Our client’s brief was to create
Even though the rooms were large, the kitchen felt dark as the sun came predominantly through the dining room window which also had the benefit of views over open countryside. Clean, fresh and bold was what was required and monochrome for adding personal effects.
Working closely with our client over a series of meetings we came up with the following a design
Removing the dividing wall was key to creating a feeling of space and light. Blocking up the door into the kitchen allowed us to house a bank of units for appliances. The main door became a double door that gave access off a spacious hallway. The island with downdraft extraction maintains the feeling of space gives space for the creative chef and also additional seating at the a breakfast bar – ideal for entertaining too!! . Large Drawers, minimalist handle-less doors and a sparkling quartz floor and coordinating work surface set the room off. We integrated coloured lighting so that the customer could have the her favourite red theme but the lights had a colour change option to suit different moods and occasions at different times of the year.
